colony.
The Greeks initiated their
empire by colonizing Sicily
in the 8th century B.C. The
visit, unique for its
archeological value,
includes the visit of 5
temples and a Roman
necropolis.
Of particular interest are
the Tempio della Concordia
in which is embedded a
Byzantine church and the
Temple of Apollo, the second
largest Greek monument ever
built.
