The historical Sicilian
residence Palazzo Gagliardo is
an architectural jewel amidst
the ancient streets of Polizzi
Generosa, Palermo province, in
Madonite country.
Within these ancient walls,
guests are welcome to an
unforgettable culinary
experience based on traditions
of the Madonie region and fine
Sicilian wines.
To visit Palazzo Gagliardo means
a full immersion that
harmoniously blends art,
architecture, history, food and
wine.
Of the original sixteenth
century structure remain, in all
certainty: the structural walls,
massive bush-hammered
cornerstones and a wonderful
portico.
Located in via Carlo V, the
Palazzo's ornamented portico is
a typical illustration of
architectural fashions in Sicily
during the 1500s. The work was
carved from local sandstone and
remains virtually intact,
allowing visitors to enjoy its
decorative details.
Palazzo Gagliardo, a home for
the Palazzo's owners during the
summer months, is located in the
heart of the feature-rich
Madonie mountains. |
